Social Media
I am going to start with this, a quote by Eleanor Calder: “If you have a problem with me, call me. If you don’t have my number then that means you don’t know me well enough to have a problem”.
This is something I am constantly reminding myself of. There are lots of posts out there that make me wonder where this person got their particular information (for lots of different topics) and then I remember pretty much everything people put on social media is their opinion and it is okay if I disagree with their opinion or they disagree with mine.
Just because someone doesn’t agree with what you think doesn’t mean they are wrong or evil. This is one of the most amazing things about America. We have freedom of speech. No let’s just stop with freedom. We have so many freedoms other countries do not. But just because someone disagrees with you does not mean they are wrong or evil or should be censored. Difference of opinion is what makes this world go round. If we all agreed this would be the most boring place ever and we would never learn. We would be living the book “The Giver” by Louis Lowry. If you haven’t read it, you should. You are allowed your opinion, and I’m allowed mine. Let’s be grateful for that freedom and use it to have meaningful and insightful conversations. To learn and grow as human beings.
But again, this is just my opinion on the topic of social media.
